Tails of Hope, Inc. is the only non-profit spay/neuter clinic in Mercer County, PA that offers expert services at low- or no-cost. We exist to eliminate neglect, abuse, and suffering of animals resulting in improved and overall quality of animal life. Our mission is to impact pet over-population through spay/neuter programs, and support of rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and education. Ideal candidates will be self-starters and have: at least 2+ years experience in a veterinary clinic, veterinary hospital, and/or animal shelter or control facility; excellent focus, customer service and organizational skills; high attention to detail; long-term dedication to the cause.

Tails of Hope, Inc. has immediate positions available for experienced veterinarians to perform 25-30 cat or dog High-Quality Spays/Neuters per day. In addition, veterinarians may perform vaccine clinics, wellness days, and other special events such as TNR or Spay Days. Tails of Hope, Inc., a 501 (3)(c), is the only low-cost Spay/Neuter clinic in Mercer County, PA and serves a great need in our community.
Ideal candidates must be currently licensed veterinarian in the state of Pennsylvania. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred. DVMs may attend quarterly board meetings and help create and support fundraising initiatives, special programming and other events for collaboration in the community.
The DVMs sought will share our organization’s passion to make a difference in our community to eliminate neglect, abuse and suffering by impacting pet over-population through spay/neuter programs and supporting rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and education resulting in improved overall quality of life.
Ideal candidates will also have excellent communication skills, positive team collaboration, and dedication and desire to grow and improve our organization. Our team includes paid RVTs, office staff, volunteer staff, and Board of Directors.
Schedule and Wages:
We typically follow a 4/10 schedule: 4 days a week (Monday through Wednesday and Friday) from 7am to 5pm. From time-to-time, another day or time may be required for special events. Days are paid at a set rate dependent on experience with potential for bonus.
No “on call” responsibilities.

Tails of Hope, Inc. is a non-profit always looking for experienced Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) or Registered Vet Technicians (RVTs) to join the medical team at the only low-cost Spay/Neuter clinic in Mercer County, PA.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years experience and be fully proficient in all technical duties (including blood draws, IV catheters, administering treatments, IM injections, vaccinations and microchips, anesthesia, monitoring, etc.). Candidate must have customer service experience and be comfortable speaking to and educating clients pre- and post-surgery and about vaccines/additional services. The vet tech’s duties include cleaning and sterilizing the surgical suite, other clinical areas of the facility, and working as a team to keep the clinic as a whole clean and sanitized. Experience with Electronic Medical Records and scheduling software is a plus. Tails of Hope uses Clinic HQ for its clinic management software. Becoming proficient in ClinicHQ will be required.
